非标鼓形齿式联轴器的外齿分为直齿和鼓形齿两种齿形，Drum gear coupling可允许较大的角位移（相对于直齿联轴器），可改进齿的接触条件，提高传递转矩的能力，延长使用寿命。有角位移时沿齿宽的接触状态。

非标鼓形齿式联轴器具有径向、轴向和角向等轴线偏差补偿能力，具有结构紧凑、回转半径小、承载能力大、噪声低及维修周期长等优点。鼓型齿式联轴器在工作时，因此，齿式联轴器需在有良好和密封的状态下工作。

非标鼓形齿式联轴器的组装步骤：

非标鼓形齿式联轴器的结构相对于弹性套柱销联轴器和弹性柱销联轴器的结构要复杂一些，其组装过程也比他们复杂，我们来看一下这个过程吧。联轴器的单个部件都加工好之后，我们就要进行组装了。主要部件有加工好的两半联轴器和外环，若干个尼龙棒，挡板两个，螺丝若干。

非标鼓形齿式联轴器组装步骤：

1. Put the outer ring on the half-coupling and install a suitable baffle on the flange of the half-coupling, and fix the outer ring and the half-coupling with screws.

2. Fill the nylon rod into the hole between the outer ring and the half coupling.

3. Install the other half coupling in the outer ring.

4. Put another nylon rod into the hole of the outer ring and half coupling.

5.然后用螺丝将另一个挡板与联轴器外环固定。通过以上的步骤我们了解了齿式联轴器的组装过程，其功能则是在工作时通过对尼龙棒纵断面的剪切来传递转矩的，可部分代替齿式联轴器。
